We wrote about Temples a few months ago right before their album Sun Structures was released on Heavenly Recordings. In that short time, they have already been considered the “Best New Band in Britain” by the likes of Johnny Marr and Noel Gallagher. There is definitely more energy and volume to these tracks that will not only cater to psychedelia enthusiasts but also most fans of early Rock and Roll. Tracks like “Mesmerise”, “Colours to Life” and “Shelter Song” display a kaleidoscope of style and flavor. They will play First Avenue in Minneapolis on Thursday, April 24th. Drowners and Two Harbors are scheduled to open. Listen to Sun Structures in its entirety below.

Wild Beasts released their latest LP Present Tense recently on Domino Records. Another fine chapter in their creative and adventurous journey. Their first single “Wanderlust” gets the remix treatment from the excellent Swedish minimalist electronic artist The Field. Put on your headphones and let your mind wander. For a moment, leave all your cares behind. Let all your Wildest dreams come true.

Brian Reitzell is an accomplished film composer who has worked on many of Sofia Coppola's films (Lost in Translation, The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, The Bling Ring) — as well as other features — (30 Days of Night, Stranger than Fiction, Peacock, Beginners). He also played drums with the influential punk band Redd Kross

Auto Music is his first solo release that started as a private recording session to explore sounds and textures. Visuals like the Spanish 70s art film The Spirit of the Beehive and the early animations of Oskar Fischinger were screened as a form of inspiration. Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) plays organ throughout the record. “Last Summer” displays itself with a bright glow that would fit well behind some sort of a dream sequence. Auto Music is out June 3rd on Smalltown Supersound.

Psych-Folk trio Web of Sunsets will release their debut LP Room Of Monsters later this month. Although they have only played a few shows and released a couple of songs… These seasoned musicians have a body of work that is worth checking out (Gospel Gossip, Robust Worlds, Heavy Deeds). Their LP release show will be at the Turf Club on February 22nd with Anonymous Choir and others.

Dark-rock band Nothing shoots for the cosmos with giant atmospheric guitars on their single “Dig”. There is nothing displayed here that’s necessarily new, But if your worshipping bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, Hum, Swervedriver, or Slowdive… I’ll probably give you a high five and a listen. Guilty of Everything comes out March 4th on Relapse Records.

Progressive post-Metal act The Mire self-released their latest album Glass Cathedrals earlier this month. In a world where aesthetic, technical ability, and the taste for absolute down-tempo madness is key… A good majority of Metal or “Heavy” acts just do not see the light of day. Their excellent track “Triple Gemini” channels bands like Cave In, Misery Signals, and Coalesce.
